Our story
About
From our home in Wicklow
It is from the tranquil village of Glenealy, surrounded by a rich tapestry of hills and ancient trees that the passion for vintage furniture has flourished. With Stephen, splitting his time between family, hockey and a lifelong interest on furniture, ours is a busy household. It is a very much a family affair, with all hands on deck including his two daughters and Bella the dog being key parts of the story.
OUR HERITAGE

Cabinet makers
RUNS IN THE FAMILY
Stephen's connection to curated furniture runs deep, beginning with his great-grandfather, WIlson who worked as a skilled cabinet maker at the historic Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast. Stephen proudly carries his great-grandfather's name as his middle name, a constant and fond reminder of his heritage.
The heritage continues on his wife’s side of the family, with her great-grandfather and grandfather who were respected auctioneers and furniture dealers in County Down. Grace & Joy may have started as a hobby, but the genuine passion for quality vintage craftsmanship and design certainly was not licked off a stone!! I suppose you could say the love of quality furniture is truly in the blood.
Looking ahead
With unknown vocations and choices ahead the hope is that a healthy respect for materials, an appreciation of the beauty in bringing old pieces back to life, and an innate understanding of the importance of sustainable living will continue long into the future.
